Inflation

Why or why was I born in a third world country where I can’t even afford the price of rice?!

Seriously now, when I was 6 (or was it 7) years old, I remember the price of a jeepney ride (From Mabini st. going to Malate Catholic school) costs about 2 pesos and 50 centavos. And when I see someone I know inside the jeep, we’d exchange greetings and the other person, more often than not, offers to pay for the “pamasahe” saying things like, “Di, sige na, okay lang, bata ka pa” or “Asus, nahiya ka pa, akin na ito, para ito lang.” 

Well, nowadays, when I see someone I know inside the jeep, unless we are directly face to face, they tend to avoid eye contact. Hiding behind other people’s bulk or striking up conversations with their seatmates just to avoid looking at you. I mean what is that supposed to mean? It’s not like i’m going to ask you to pay for my fare!

And don’t get me started on the rice shortage. There is no rice shortage YET. YET. The report clearly stated that it was only one of the projected problems come 2010. Meaning, the Government better do something about it now or by 2010, we’d have rice shortage. So why the Rice Shortage NOW? Well, some businessmen are as cunning as “Lumen” and decided to keep the wheat they are grinding and wait until people are desperate for it before they intend to put it into market. That way, they can name their price. 

I don’t understand why the government did not forsee this. If I had it my way, i’d flood (and I mean flood) the market with NFA rice until everyone’s satisfied, that way, those people who keep rice be forced to sell it at a lower rate. After all, when competiton is stiff, the cheaper, the better for business. Let’s face it, the masa are mostly contented with NFA. Only the middle-class and the rich buy the expensive kind. And nowadays, even middle-class buy NFA. So who’s going to buy the high-class rice? Only the rich. Which are what? 3% of the community? 

But to be fair, I actually believe that importing rice is cheaper than growing and harvesting them here (I mean, considering the price of EVERYTHING?! The farmers would be poorer than church mices). But I would want us to produce our own product, because seriously, if we keep on relying on other countries products, we’d never be able to stand on our own.

And a third world country, we will forever be.

Tomapi Nikki!

Did you guys read the latest Tomapi Rabu Rabu?! Gad! These two should come out of the closet already! They obviously love each other to death! Okay, so in Pi’s nikki, he said that he was sleeping in the dressing room of Fuji TV (or somewhere), when he woke up, he had a mail which came from Toma, and the mail contained a picture of him sleeping,

Gad! Pi must have looked so sexy that Toma just had to take a pic of him while he was sleeping. Anyway, Pi emailed him back stating that “you should have woken me up, I really wanted to see you/talk to you!”

KYAAAAA~ I’m so turned on right now, I can’t even begin to explain it!

And the best thing about this entire thing was that Toma answered him back in his nikk, he talked about how Pi was wrapped in a blanket sleeping like a child and he just had to take a picture without waking him up and sent it to him and how Pi replied to his text about how he wanted to see him (Toma)

I used to watch that show and kept thinking that Britney’s little sis is going to be better than her, now, well..What is there to say? Isn’t it funny? What is it with siblings these days?

I mean, The Simpsons? Even Ashley got pregnant way ahead of her sister. (Poor Jess!) But meh, she’s richer so at least she’s way ahead.

Vampire Knight episode 1

How does Miyano Mamoru do it? 

It seems that when he does the seiyuu, the character suddenly becomes 10X sexier? I used to love Kaname better than Zero but after hearing Kiryu’s voice, i was in love. 

He was Tamaki in a Light sort of way.

Last night, I logged in on my crunchyroll account and finally saw the first episode of the series, i have been waiting for this for a long time and I was not dissappointed.

It did not actually EXACTLY follow the manga but it was very near, there were no MAJOR changes and it established their characters fairly well.

I won’t give out spoilers because it much better that you guys watch it yourselves, butoverall, i was fairly impressed.

The characters:

Zero- Hawt beyond words, sexy voice, sexy bod, sexy. I can’t wait to see him with fangs. It looked at bit stiff at first biut after a while, I got used to the animation. i personally prefer the Manga, but then again, don’t we all?

Yuki- Well, Yuki is Yuki. Her seiyuu took a long while to get used to, i had imagined her voice as whiny and well…anime-ish. But whoever her seiyuu is, she pulled it off!

Kaname- I am a big fan of thos dude, mainly because he was just goodly-evil and all, but I felt that the anime didn’t do him justice. i sincerlu cannot even remember his voice. Or his face. I just love his eyes.

The storyline:

I’ll give it 4 out of 5. It was a good start. There were no major changes and all seem well with the Cross academy.

Nothing else to say, just catch it…Zero is hot. hot hot hot. Gad.

By the way, I didn’t realize that when they say NIGHT class. They literally mean, NIGHT.

Ouran manga chapter 60

Well, after days of traveling, I finally found the time to sit down and read the latest Ouran Manga chapter! KYAAAAA!!!! Baka baka baka Tono!!! Baka! I can’t believe him! Okay so major major major spoiler! (So don’t read this until you’ve read the manga chapter)

SPOILER!

Okay, so the chapter opened with Tamaki dreaming about his mother. In the dream, he was asking her if his grandmother hated him and mommy Sophie-ann replied that nobody can hate Tamaki. But Tamaki realized that when in love, a person can end up sad.

Meanwhile, Haruhi arrived at her classmate’s skiing lodge only to be yet again, shocked by the ways of the rich. It was a scene reminiscent of the medical examination episode of the anime. There were ski instructors everywhere and snow carriages. They offered to help Haruhi but she declined, stating that she’ll wait for the twins to teach her.

In another part of the ski lodge, Hikaru was worrying about what he said to their idiot of a king (CHAPTER 59: He confessed to Tamaki that he loves Haruhi and forbade the blond type to come to the skiing trip) Anyway, Hikaru was upset, thinking that he had done something bad and ruined their family relationship In the end, Kaoru told him that he was touched that Hikaru thought that way because it can only mean that he likes Tono (As a senpai. There were some talk about Tamaki realizing his feeling for Haruhi when Hikaru did what he did, but it ended nowhere)  The twins went to find Haruhi. They found her sleeping in the snow. (Don’t you just love our apathetic heroine? She got tired of waiting and decided to sleep in snow. Reminded me of the girl in Bisco Hatori’s other manga “Millennium years of snow”)

In BAKA TONO’S MINI 2nd MANSION, the other Host Club members were gathered and Huni-senpai asked Tamaki why they can’t go visit Haruhi in the resort, Tamaki made some lame excuse and Kyouya, being the Shadow King that he is, (suki!) immediately connected it with Hikaru. (Yet again, the blond idiot went into his fatherly mode)

Hikaru and Haruhi ended up sharing a room (ooooh! Next chapter!) In the end, Kyouya (suki!), Mori and Huni went to the ski lodge and talked with Kaoru, Hikaru heard them discuss that maybe Tamaki might be so hang up on the “familial thing that he will never be able to figure out his feelings for Haruhi”

So sad.

THOUGHTS:

That wasn’t all that happened of course, but you need to read the manga rather that read spoilers. I am personally rooting for Tamaki because no matter where you look at it, he is the best person for Haruhi. He is as active as haruhi is passive and the both understand each other too well. Hikaru is too emotional and attached to Kaoru that I just can’t picture them together in any scenario. (Of course, a part of me wishes that she end up with Kyouya but I guess with the way things are going, it’s not going to happen)

Funny isn’t it? I keep getting the feeling that the Host Club’s going to break up any minute now.

I love Tamaki; I hope she ends up with him.

Reunions

     Don’t you just love reunions? And I mean of any kind. Going to any event and seeing old friends, remembering past activities, backstabbing old classmates, I just love that feeling. 

     Well, I have attended a lot of informal reunions and it amuses me how everyone of us attend just for the sake of grabbing the opportunity to backstab each other. My reunions always havethe same scenariois. The host would invite use, the moment I enter the place, I immediately go to my friends and watch people arrive.

      It’s a good past time, watching people enter the "sacred" place, knowing that not two seconds before the person entered, we already discussed his/her life story. And mind you, there are a lot of them.

The religious kid who got pregnant.

The closet who denies being closet.

The open closet who can’t come out.

The bisexual who was the bf of the popular girl and the closet gay.

The guy who used to give the school proffessor "private classes"

The girl who was caught masturbating.

The girl who openly cheats on her Bf and the bf who is just too blind to see.

The class secret boyfriend.

The fat girl.

The traumatized guy. 

and many many many more….

     Isn’t it funny how each class has different characters worthy of a cast of a prime time soap opera? If my former classmates and I do our own "The Hills" reality show, we’d dominate the ratings. 

You name it we have it. And believe me, at the rate things are going, there’s probably more to come.

    I love a scandal, the juicier it is, the more my mouth waters. I feel my mouth jaws get that sensation when I crave for Green mangoes? I love that feeling. I love how it hurts and how it drives me mad. 

I love reunions.

10,000 BC

     What a sucky, sucky, sucky movie. Way beyond what you guys can probably imagine. Okay, so what made it sucky?! Hah! Even a 9 year old can find enough adjectives to describe this crap of a film. It was so pathetic that I can probably make a poem out of it. (and three pages long too!) However, let us get down to business, okay, so my friends and I were in a mall watching Sydney White (Amanda Bynes movie?) well, THAT was just like any other Amanda Bynes movie so we obviously knew what to expect so we were hardly disappointed. Anyway, since we were so bored after, we decided to catch the opening of 10,00BC. Of course, because it was so amazingly primed, we had such high hopes and were so honest to goodness(ly) excited thinking that this movie is so going to kick ass. So imagine our shock that barely 15 minutes into it, we already felt like sleeping.

It was so damn BOOOOORING!

Seriously, my IQ dropped about 20 points from watching that shit.

1. Inconsistencies. Admit it, EGYPT? PYRAMIDS? 10,000BC? Nu-uh. NO. Just no.
2. What is up with that SEE DOG-SAY DOG narrator? Hey, I found his voice appealing but did he really need to narrate what we can already see from the screen?
3. The hell with the costumes. Someone should fire their costume designer. The clothes look like they ordered it from some Halloween store in VEGAS. Not to mention those weird moments when the costumes just disappear into thin air.

4. Wow. It’s actually quite amazing that the 2 lead characters are so stunningly beautiful. (I won’t deny it, Steven Straight is hot) the rest just fades into the background. Who were those people again?
5. What is up with that make up? And the *parlored hair?! What?! They didn’t think we’d notice?!
6. The CGI’s weren’t bad, actually, if anything, it was probably the only reason why the movie was a hit. I personally loved the big tiger. He reminds me of barbequed chicken for some reason. But I have to say, he still looks CGI to me. The mammoths are okay. I’m not about to orgasm over them, but at least they manage to make the movie looked cool. The birds…looked like birds.
7. Well, I have more to say but if I keep this up, I don’t think it’d end so I’ll just stop here.

     Don’t watch it. Waste of your 20 bucks. (Or if you DO intend to watch it, bring along a friend to backstab the movie with, I’ll guarantee you will enjoy it!)

Pi obsession

I simply do not understand this dramatic obsession with Yamashita Tomohisa. He isn’t exactly what you’d call the handsomest guy in town (or more specifically, Japan.) But there’s just something about him which makes me want to go Kyaa! Kyaa! And just produce fangirl squeals for the rest of my pathetic little life. 

I love Yamapi! (Don’t we all?)

I first met him when I watched my very first Japanese drama way back 2005, the days when Youtube wasn’t much of a stickler for rules. (Translation: animes and dramas still exist and CR wasn’t around) Nobuta wo Produce dominated the most viewed, most loved, most everything. I was pretending to type my assignment one day while actually watching the latest episode of Naruto when I chanced upon NwP. I would have ignored it if it weren’t for the fact that it pretty much dominated the "MOST" section. 

And so, I decided that it was time to watch the first episode, quite boring really, it was my first Jdrama and I won’t even lie, Shuji’s well maintained EYEBROWS.. scared the shit out  of me…I was like, "What the hell?!"  Man, those eyebrows either have to be faked or penciled! But anyway, let us not stray from the issue, I was intrigued with why  guy like Shuji has to lie his way through high school, halfway through the first episode, I decided Kamenashi Kazuya was someone I could like, but that was before I met AKIRA! 

Ahh…Yes….

Kusano Akira was THE MAN! 

Okay, so actually, I hated him at first, I mean come on, he has to be drunk! What’s up with the tone and the voice? I was annoyed beyond words! I hated him! I hated him so much that it took me so long to realize that I actually love him to pieces, dear old Akira, his konkon’s and nobuta power chu nyuu’s, his DJ Ozma impersonations…EVERYTHING!

I never felt as sad as the moment I finished watching that series. (Besides, the sondtrack is beyond amazing!)

After NwP, I saw him again in Stand up, Dragon Zakura, others, then finally, KUROSAGI. My, my, he was really hot there wasn’t he?

But seriously, why do I like Yamapi?

Is is his hair?  Hist style? His slightly drunk voice? His shyness? His face? His 98cm manboobs? His physique? What? I don’t understand where this obsession is coming from! He’s actually a very simple looking guy!

Okay, so let’s have a rundown shall we?

First of all. I will have to admit, he is cute. But he is nowhere near the word handsome.

Okay, so he can dance and shake those over molested hips. (Yes, I do believe he was molested, I don’t know why but I have this strong gut feeling.) But I LOVE HIM STILL!

He can sing, such a sexy sexy sexy VOICE! (not the best but he can sing!) And you know it’s him. There is no mistaking that voice.

I will agree that his body deserves a second look. But that’s not enough to obsess over a person right?

    A lot of people get scared when I anounce that I’m a big YAOI fan! For those unaware of the term, it simply means, Gay love! Or more specifically, boyXboy love. Alright, so reasons why I love Yaoi: 

- Well, first of all, unlike normal animes which uses the same plotlines, Yaoi/Shounen-ai (i’m more of a shounen-ai fan than yaoi, but everybody says YAOI these days that it doesn’t really matter) Anyway, so, Yaoi/SA have the best stories ever! Why? Well, it’s rarely ever too corny, or too cheesy or too bland. 

- I blame it on GRAVITATION! Gad, I loved that anime! And Gakuen Heaven, and well…KYAAAA!

- It has better drawing. Admit it.

- It’s sickeningly sweet that you want to puke but just feel touched? I can’t quite explain it.

- Come on people, TWO HOT MEN on TOP of EACH OTHER?! Sign me up! I’d totally watch it!

The movie ETERNAL SUMMER? Frustrating, but LOVED.
